I've been away from Blogger for so long. I like the new changes tho. I may return, someday when I have a purpose and the time. :) So, really what I'm saying is, don't hold your breath, ok? In the meantime, these were my thoughts and struggles. I am by no means "out of the woods" yet - however, I am in a new place :) and I continue to learn and love and trust in myself, regardless of how others may impact me.
Until, someday....
"I think it's likely this is a good place to start." This is a blog, a diary, a confession, venting, a social commentary, and some general observations by me. I'm a newly single mom trying to pick up the pieces of a life left shattered, by addiction. It's funny, heartbreaking, and even embarrassing.

A lovely day off...
(I was fascinated by beetles today)
A~ and I did go on our walkabout. I packed a big picnic lunch and we stopped and got bubble tea at the tea place I love, then we ate in the Peace Garden. It was wonderful.
And it was so much fun!! I am just so lucky. I truly enjoy hanging out with my 7 yr old, he's such a fun great opinionated kid. He took quite a few pictures and they turned out amazing!
I'll share what we did, and please forgive my bragging :)
(A~ had next to no help from me, my only pointer was get really close to fill up the screen and I pointed out the caterpillar and beetles)

One Man
I was asked if I wanted to go along to this "One Man Minneapolis" thing. I don't know what to call it. It's a contest, here's the link. One of the guys has chosen where I work as the non-profit to get the donation. He wasn't there. But it was just insanely odd. It was nice to get to know people and I'm glad I wasn't there to hit or be hit on, I figured from the get go they're not eligible, just pawns for promotion. I'm cynical like that sometimes. The party was more to sell the condo complex that let them use their party room. But hey it had free drinks! I got to hang with a couple women from work who are really nice and in the same boat as me, kids, in need of more social options due to huge life changes.
I didn't take pictures! I forgot.
Man, the room was boiling hot! I kept having hot flashes, and no I'm not pre-menopausal, considering it was really cool out today I have no idea why it'd be a sauna in the room.
We talked to a few of the guys. Cute sweet yadda yadda yadda. Babies. But it is a good cause. They just need a one woman Minneapolis. Christy has such guts though. She just walked up to the guys and then would bring them back to me and the other woman to chat, who was also too shy to walk right up. We were more about the drinks and food, she was about the 'candy'. Too funny. I was home by 8:30. So it was a perfect night.

Ch-ch-ch-changes
HEY!
The blog has been erased!! I have moved the entries to a safely password protected blog.
Now FUN!
Life has been waaay better. Right now I still feel like I'm at a crossroads, but they're nearly always good. This blog now will be very much reliant on small entries with links and photos. Here's to quirky!
Everything should be taken with a grain of salt, from here on out!
This weekend I attended the pride parade downtown, with my 7 yr old son. I'm not gay, and I firmly believe that you should be able to love who you love, you should get all the same rights that go along with that! This means having my son (and eventually children, tho that could be eons from now) see that I don't think any differently about volunteering for the pride parade as I do volunteering for the local lame-ass small town parade (other than the simple fact that Pride is way more fun).
Side note: anyone watch Martin Bashir's replay of the Michael Jackson interviews? I'm sorry MJ was crazier than a bag of squirrel bait, but the man had a messed up life. And I think Martin Bashir is just a bit mmm...I want to say evil, but I'll say mean. He didn't make a fan of me during the first interview airing, and he didn't endear himself to me any more after this. The way it ended with Michael talking about children was just mean.
